can you taste the summer?
it's hiding in our skin.
paint with our palms the beauty of bloom
and we'll name our limbs The hands of god.
your tongue that rides the holes of the canyon
drives deep in my winter
with whispers
in times i forget my own.
snowblow or defrost my heart-
there's always traces of chill in my past.
but you with your hair that waves the ocean
can waive away
or melt
icy covers.
uncover the summer that rests in my skin.
